Sneak Peak
Get a glimpse of the new Able-Differently website that Audix has been working on before it launches!
The Audix team came up with a new design and converted their existing website with over 150 pages to a WordPress theme. The new WordPress theme will allow the staff and volunteers at Able-Differently to manipulate and add content to their website with little or no knowledge of web programming skills. The ability to manage their own content will prove to be a major cost savings down the road.
The Able-Differently website is a valuable resource for the parents of autistic children, as well as professionals who work with autistic children. As Able-Differently adds more content to their website, more parents will be able to learn about autism and how to enrich their child’s life. It has been a great honor for Audix to be involved in bringing this valuable information to the cloud in a more readable format.
Many users of the site have commented on how much easier it is to navigate and find the information they are looking for. It is the hope of Able-Differently and Audix that some of the new features of the website will encourage more people to donate to this wonderful charity.
Ever Wonder Why Your Graphics Look Great on Your Computer, But Are Blurry or Pixilated on Your Printout?
If you’ve spent hours upon hours creating a beautiful flyer or important announcement only to find that your logo or some other graphic came out blurry or pixilated on paper, then you know how frustrating it can be trying to figure out why. At Audix, we hear this complaint from our clients every once in a while and the solution is actually quite simple once you understand what’s going on.
Here’s the problem: Many graphics that you find on the internet are created in 72 dpi, which is high enough resolution for viewing on the computer screen. However, if you want a crisp and clean printout you have to have an image that has been created in 300-600 dpi. Low resolution images that are only 72 dpi not only look good on the computer screen, but they take up a lot less memory which is great for the internet where we demand fast downloads. But try to print them out…
Here’s the solution: If the problem is your company logo, or other image that you own the rights to, you simply need to use a “high-resolution” version of the logo (you can usually spot a high-res image by the size of the file). If you don’t have a high-res version of the image, you can create one…if you have the right software, such as InDesign. If you don’t have the software, we can help. Just give us a call and we’ll help you get some high resolution images for your publication.

NEW RESOURCE FOR ARMY PERSONNEL
Experts Help Soldiers Get What They’re Entitled To
Utah’s own, Audix Business Services just helped Sergeant First Class Joshua Runnels take his twenty-four years of experience in the United States Army and put it into a website that just launched. The website is www.ArmyKnowledgeBase.com and the site is a free resource for all Army personnel.
Audix set up the website using a content management system, meaning that SFC Runnels can easily add information on a continuous basis without having any webmaster experience.
“We got tired of seeing Soldiers being screwed out of their basic rights so we started researching and found there is a lot of information that is not readily known nor disseminated downward to lower levels,” says SFC Runnels.
After spending years helping other soldiers on a one-on-one basis, SFC Runnels decided that all soldiers, across the globe, deserved to have this information readily available. A soldier shouldn’t have to spend hours of research and become a legal expert in order to claim the benefits that are rightfully theirs.
SFC Runnels points out, “Too often a Soldiers Chain of Command is quick to brush a Soldier off instead of trying to teach or inform them. We are very proficient in our knowledge and can provide reference for all our answers with Army Regulations as well as through our own personal experiences.”
ArmyKnowledgeBase.com was just launched in January of 2012 and already has a wealth of information concerning Army Regulation, Wounded Warrior Rights and many other tips and tricks for soldiers to get what they’ve been promised.
Also, if a soldier goes to www.ArmyKnowledgeBase.com and is unable to find the answer to their question, they can submit their question to SFC Runnels. SFC Runnels will do the research for them and get back to them promptly with an answer. In addition, each soldier’s questions will be posted on the website with the answer so that information can be readily available to other Army personnel throughout the world.
This is a great resource for all Army personnel and they deserve to know about it.

We just finished setting up a new wordpress website that turned out really nice. SFC Joshua Runnels contacted us from San Antonio Texas and asked about how he could market his knowledge of Army Personnel issues. He had an existing free website that he had already put together himself:
After a brief conversation with SFC Runnels, we suggested that he set up an informational site for Army personnel that could potentially generate a lot of traffic, the we suggested adding some Google Ads to the site to generate some income from the site as well as add a donation button to ask for donations for the site to help generate revenue.
Setting up the site in WordPress will help him add content on a regular basis without the help of a web developer. WordPress is also search engine friendly, so the more content that SFC Runnels adds to the site, the more organic traffic he will naturally recieve with out paying for marketing. With SFC Runnels’ extensive knowledge in this area, he will have lots to talk about on his new blog and many soldiers will be able to receive the benefits they’re entitled to.
Here is the new wordpress site design that we came up with for the ArmyKnowledgeBase.com
The expanding reach of the Internet and growth of online collaboration tools have all changed small business operation strategies dramatically in the past few years.
One strategy that is gaining popularity among Small Businesses, according to Forbes magazine, is outsourcing. I have certainly seen evidence of that in the growth of my business over the past few years.
Let us take a look at 6 key trends for using independent contractors for projects and even ongoing staffing needs.
The “Outsourcing Life” is hip
How many of you have read or heard of the book, the 4 hour work week? More and more people are realizing that they can get their work done by someone else even if they are a solo entrepreneur.
The SBA says 56% of US small businesses with 100 employees or less, have fewer than 5 employees. If your business is one with no employees or a very small number of employees, you may find yourself over-stretched for time and in this economy you probably find yourself needing to watch expenses too. More businesses will opt for contracting relationships and hold off hiring new employees as long as possible.
How to benefit from this trend:
- Re-examine what you consider to be activities only you can do, even if you are a sales associate for someone else’s company – do the math. Do you make more money when you’re scheduling appointments, or face to face with a potential customer? Would you make more money than you would spend if you had someone else scheduling and you spent your time selling?
- If not the entire activity, can some parts of this at least be outsourced?
- Be prepared to invest some time up front in training your outsourcing partner, or a little extra in setup fees.
I’ll post trend number two later
New Client Has Great Service: Specialized Appraisal offers a great service that we think you should know about. We designed and printed a flyer for Specialized Appraisal that advertises a unique service…property tax appeal!
According to Craig Peterson, President of Specialized Appraisal – If you DON’T appeal your property taxes, you have agreed to pay the HIGHEST POSSIBLE TAX! Well, that makes sense, right?
Your first thought might be about how labor intensive or expensive it might be to take on such a crusade against the government. That’s the best part…Specialized Appraisal does all of the work for you! Better yet, they won’t charge you a penny unless you win!
To top it all off, if you do win, the fee could be as little as $125!!! It’s definately worth it…what if they save you thousands…year after year?!?! One last thing we should mention…evidently they’re very successful with it, they win most of their cases
Do you offer personalization of your products on your website? We just completed a project for a client that sells teeth whitening gel to dentists. They have a photo of the gel syringes on their website and wanted to add the functionality of giving their customers the option of seeing their name and contact info on the syringes. We quickly set up their web page to show the customer what the product would look like with their own name, website and phone number on it. the personalization of the product shows ten different color options and four different font options…it turned out pretty cool!
If you want to offer product personalization on your website, give us a call or email us today for a quote.

Fundraising Services
Most non-profit agencies have over-worked and underpaid employees, more and more people needing their services and less money to provide services with. Sometimes the most obvious solution to the problem is to hire a full time development professional, but they just don’t have the budget to commit to another full time person. Outsourcing a portion of your workload to experienced professionals can dramatically increase your budget and reduce your stress level at the same time. Our fundraising services include:
- Grant Writing
- Special Events
- Connections to Sponsors
- Relationship Leverage Training
- Board of Directors Training
- Many, Many More
